Ethical issues during your doctorate? - case discussions - online

The Berlin University Alliance (BUA) is an alliance of Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin and Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Together, they are pursuing the goal of creating and shaping an integrated research space in Berlin. This alliance aims to establish Berlin as a leading international science location. All workshops and events offered by the Graduate Studies Support Program are funded by the BUA and therefore free of charge.

Content

The event "Ethical Issues during Your Doctorate? - case discussion" is a new offer for Early Career Researchers in Berlin.

In the sessions you will deal with example cases of ethical issues during your doctorate. Every session a new case will be discussed. They can range from topics like data fraud to topics like discrimination and the relation between PhDs and their supervisors. Please note

To make the most out of this event, it is important that a safe and transparent atmosphere is created. We ask that you maintain discretion about the topics discussed and to attend the online meeting in an appropriate environment, preferably at a place where you will not be disturbed. If you happen to be in a room where other people are present, make sure to use headphones to maintain confidentiality. Furthermore, we ask you to make sure that your internet connection is stable, so that you can turn on your video and participate actively.  As sensitive topics might be discussed, it creates a more trusting environment, if everybody agrees to show their faces.
