The Berlin University Alliance (BUA) is an alliance of Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin and Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Together, they are pursuing the goal of creating and shaping an integrated research space in Berlin. This alliance aims to establish Berlin as a leading international science location. All workshops and events offered by the Graduate Studies Support Program are funded by the BUA and therefore free of charge.
Participation
Advanced doctoral researchers and postdocs in the Social Studies and Humanities of the Berlin University Alliance.
Before booking a workshop, please make sure that you can attend for the entire duration. Please check our terms and conditions.
Objectives
Participants learn about strategies to find orientation on the job market and to experiment with some of these strategies. In addition, participants reflect on their strengths and identify professional fields where they can cultivate these strengths.
Content:
(1) Individual challenges specific to the transition from academia to non-academia.
(2) Strengths, motivation, needs and goals.
(3) Possible future selves.
(4) Non-conventional strategies (i.e. other strategies than applying to job ads) to “test” possible future selves.
