The Berlin University Alliance (BUA) is an alliance of Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin and Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Together, they are pursuing the goal of creating and shaping an integrated research space in Berlin. This alliance aims to establish Berlin as a leading international science location. All workshops and events offered by the Graduate Studies Support Program are funded by the BUA and therefore free of charge.

Participation

Doctoral researchers (all disciplines) of the Berlin University Alliance in the first six months of their doctorate. If you have already been doing your doctorate for longer than 1 year, this kick-off event is not suitable for you.

Before booking a workshop, please make sure that you can attend for the entire duration. Please check our terms and conditions.

Objectives

Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität and Charité - Universitätsmedizin are pursuing the goal of improving the conditions of young researchers during their doctoral studies within the framework of the Berlin University Alliance. The cornerstone of this support is the qualification and mentoring as well as counseling services specifically for doctoral students.

Content

With the event "Kick-off your doctorate" we want to support you to get started and to build up a network of peers that will accompany you through your doctorate. You will also receive helpful input on topics that are highly relevant in this phase of your career.

Facilitated by qualified trainers, a selection of important tools will be tested in small exercises and opportunities will be shown to immerse these topics across the institutions. Counseling, individual coaching, and a networking evening offer the opportunity to address individual challenges and engage in conversation with other doctoral researchers.

For this virtual event, we will use a conference software that will allow you to get detailed information about the entire program and decide which of the offerings you want to attend.
