The Berlin University Alliance is an alliance of Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin and Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Together, they are pursuing the  goal of creating and shaping an integrated research space in Berlin. This alliance aims to establish Berlin as a leading international science location.  In addition to other key aspects, the Graduate Study Support team offers a comprehensive interdisciplinary qualification program that addresses the following topics in five core modules: "Kick off your doctorate" retreats, an "(In)Credible Research" conference, online and in person "Writing Week", "Mental Health Days" and a "Career Day".

Objectives and Content

The Career Day is an annual event organized by the Berlin University Alliance. It is primarily designed for doctoral candidates in Berlin who are looking to expand their horizons and learn about the various career options available to them. It is an excellent opportunity for doctoral candidates in Berlin to explore future perspectives and meet exciting guests.

The Career Day will provide an opportunity to meet and speak directly with professionals from various industries and sectors. Participants will be able to attend round table discussions and world cafés, as well as meet with professionals who can provide valuable insights and advice on their future prospects.

Whether participants are looking to pursue a career in academia, industry, public service and politics, journalism and publishing or the cultural sector, the Career Day offers a chance to connect with individuals who have chosen these paths and can provide valuable insights into the different paths available to you.

Organize an event on non-academic career choices for doctoral researchers!
Building on a long history of career days, all doctoral researchers of FU, HU, TU, and Charité are invited to become part of the planning team! All team members from all disciplines are welcome to participate.
Team members will get a workshop on project management and event management. During the project period, the team will meet on a regular basis. After the career day, all team members will receive a certificate.
